Moneybagg Yo was served lawsuit papers during a recent event.
A video obtained by The Neighborhood Talk shows the Memphis rapper signing bottles of his Del Dia Tequila brand. However, things turned awkward when a woman pretending to be a fan arrived with papers. “Thank you,” she said before handing the rapper the legal docs. “You’ve been served.” Money appeared confused as he looked up to the camera and responded, “Huh?” “Have a good one,” the unnamed woman responded, walking away.
According to The Shade Room, court documents shed more light on the situation. Affiliate Nation filed a suit against the rapper for a breach of contract. Legal documents claim that, in 2021, Moneybagg Yo received a deposit from AN to perform at the Annual Summer Fest in Baton Rouge.
The agreement stated that Moneybagg would receive the remainder of his fee after he completed his performance. However, the rap star allegedly didn’t show up to the event. He then went on to sign with a different promoter for a different event.
The “Certified Neptunes” artist stated that scheduling conflicts made the Baton Rouge show impossible for him. Legal docs allege that he then promised to reschedule the event. But those plans also fell through. Now, Affiliate Nation is pressing Moneybagg Yo to refund their deposit, cover attorney’s fees, and pay damages.
Moneybagg seemingly responded to the suit over the weekend on X/Twitter. On Saturday (Dec. 9), the 32-year-old xweeted out a series of messages brushing off an unnamed setback. “Small thing to a Giant,” he typed with another xweet using a slew of laughing emojis.
